How do I end a friendship with my best friend?

For MANY reasons I've decided that I'm ending our friendship. Please don't tell me to reconsider because I have, and that's why we've been friends for this past year. We've been best friends for most of our lives. How do I end it? I'm waiting until the end of the school year so it won't be awkward during school. Any suggestions? Where, how, and when? Thanks!
