Will they still deport my husband after become a permanent resident?

We had our last interview 6 months ago, my husband is now now a legal Permanent resident of the Usa.. we got a letter approving the case 6 months, but can he still be deported if i call the immigration and report how awfull he's with me right now? will they remove his statis from permanent to unconditional? he says that he's gonna applly for his citeznship.
