How long will a 5lb frozen chicken take to defrost. thanks?

i was thinking 24 hours but my friend said 36 hours. but its only 5 lb, what you think want it for 2morrows dinner and that will be 24 hours away, if it wont be rady i'll just buy one and use it during the week. thanks
